How to: High Waisted Pants

High waisted pants have been a must for a while. They are everywhere, but I bought mines on Zara a few weeks ago. I also got a nice blouse to match with it... but that was all I could think of. Just an outfit for such a great pants? No way. So Ive doing a litle bit of research to see all the chances my purchase have! Runway is always the first source, but streetstyle is the most inspiring. Here are the result of my personal research. In my opinion, they look better with heels, it goes perfect with Perfecto jacket for a casual look and even better with blazer for smart occasions!

Los pantalones de cintura alta son un must desde hace algún tiempo. Están por todas partes, de hecho Zara parece una granja de ellos, y obviamente los mios corren por cuenta de Amancio. Me los compré hace algunas semanas, con una blusa a juego... pero eso era todo lo que se me ocurría. ¿Un solo conjunto para unos pantalones tan geniales? Uhm no podía ser, así que he hecho una pequeña investigación. La pasarela es siempre el punto de partida, pero el streetstyle inspira bastante más. Aquí os dejo el resultado de mi búsqueda. En mi opinión, quedan mejor con tacón, van perfectos con una chaqueta Perfecto para un look mas casual y son incluso mejores con blazer para alguna ocasión mas elegante.

April Magazines: Spain ftw!

No doubt, I had to have the very first issue of Harper's Bazaar Spain last month. I read it the same night I got it and and love it. It was surprising to know there was already life before Vogue. Carmen Kass' editorial was amazing.... and the second issue seems so promising. Hopefully, they'll keep it up with Miss Roslyakova!

Sin lugar a duda, tenía que tener la primera edicion de Harper's Bazaar España el mes pasado. Lo leí del tirón el mismo día que me lo compré y me encantó. Fue sorpendrente saber que había vida antes de Vogue. El editorial de Carmen Kass creo que fue bastante bueno y el segundo número promete. Esperemos que mantengan el listón con Miss Roslyakova!

Mila Fashion Week FW2010

I reallllly dont know where to start. Milan FW has been a bit weird this year for me, I mean the shows I had big expectations for kinda let me down, while others I'd have had a quick look at, were actually surprising and superior. Im gonna try to sum it all quickly, as always from my non-proffesional fashion eye. Realmente no se por donde empezar. La semana de la moda de Milan ha sido rara este año, y por rara me refiero a que los desfiles en los que tenía más expectativas me han defraudado un poco, mientras que algunos a los que normalmente solo les echo un vistazo rápido, me han encantado y creo que han sido mejores. Voy a intentar hacer un resumen rápido, como siempre desde mi punto de vista.

Dolce&Gabbanna:
Lingerie inspiration stay, well-tailored jackets and 70 models strut their walk down the runway. Clap your hands for Domenico and Stefano.

La inspiración lencera persiste, chaquetas a medida y unas 70 modelos que se contonean en la pasarela. Aplauso para Domenico y Stefano

Versace:
So-so Donatella. Geometry and asymmetry, nice but SS was more exciting.
Así así con Donatella. Geometría y asimetría, no estuvo mal pero creo que nos entusiasmamos más con el de primavera.

Prada and Dsquared2:
There go my big dissapointments. I really had troubles picking one single outfit from Prada's show to include in the collage because I didnt like any. Must be because Im 20 and that collection doesnt exactly scream YOUTH! Can you tell the girl under the clothes is one of the sexiest ever? What you did to Alessandra Ambrosio Miuccia?! About Dean and Dan.... why you guys went for the vamp look? Camping was much more fun =(
Aquí van mis dos grandes desilusiones. Me costó y mucho elegir un solo look del desfile de Prada para poner en el collage, porque no me gustaba ninguno. Supongo que será porque tengo 20 y la colleción no grita juventud! precisamente. Por si alguien no se ha fijado, la chica debajo de ese montón de ropa es una de las más sexies del planeta, Alessandra Ambrosio. o.O Nada más que añadir. Respecto a Dean y Dan, el look vamp no me convence... el camping era mucho más divertido =(

Gucci:
Started cream, then gray and later some suede around. I like it. Get Frida's look: tailored pants & coats and fur-patched jackets, add some attitude and done. Empezó con tonos crema, luego gris y después un poco de ante. Me gusta. Consigue el look de Frida: Pantalones a medida & abrigos y chaquetas de piel a retales, añade un poco de caracter y lista.

Blumarine and Pucci:
At Blumarine we could see lots of leather, suede, and crystal studding. Perfect threesome. But I'll have to share my love for Molinari with Peter Dundas. He took the label somewhere.... kind of bohemian and lush and I freaking love it. Both Fabulous.
En Blumarine poduimos ver cuero, ante y tachuelitas de cristal. Un trio perfecto. Pero voy a tener que compartir mi amor por Molinari con Peter Dundas. Ha llevado la marca más allá... más bohemio y suntuoso, y me encanta. Fabulosos ambos.

Missoni and D&G.

So-so both. Missoni or welcome to tribe?

Ahí ahí los dos. Missoni o bienvenido a la tribu?

Moschino Cheap & Chic:
They're celebratin' the company's new hotel in Milan's Viale Monte Grappa so the models represented different women who come out of the hotel. Ill recomend to watch the show, its always nice not to see blank models walking down the runway.
En Moschino estaban de celebración por la apertura de su nuevo hotel en Milan, así que las modelos representaban diferentes tipos de mujer saliendo del mismo. Os recomiendo que veais el desfile, siempre es agradable no ver a las modelos sin expresión alguna desfilando.

Roberto Cavalli:

Here goes the big surprise. Cavalli, whose purple yatch j'adore and whose collections I never pay much attention to. We all know the hippies are rich now, so welcome wealthy, glamorous boho. We love you.

He aquí mi gran sorpresa. Cavalli, cuyo yate morado adoro y a cuyas colecciones rara vez presto atención. Todos sabemos que los jippies de ahora son ricos, así que bienvenido seas adinerado y glamuroso boho. Te queremos.

London Fashion Week FW2010

There is only one reason I keep an eye on London Fashion Week and it is called Prorsum, Burberry Prorsum. And this season, my expectations have been fulfilled, Ive found a little issue with the jackets though, which one to choose?

Solo hay una razón por la que me da por ojear la semana de la moda de Londres y se llama Prorsum, Burberry Prorsum. Y esta temporada mis expectativas se han cumplido, solo encontré un pequeño problemita.... con que chaqueta quedarse.

I dont have much to say about the other shows. Like Hadley Freeman from style quoted to claim that a 26-year-old designer has gone back to his roots would sound like describing a dress as vintage because you bought it last year. But Henry Holland came back to the slogan t-shirts that made him so talked about around 2006. Matthew Williamson's muse must have grown up because he opened the show with a tweed short jacket matching a dress... but when people were already thinking they were in the wrong show, the bright silk-lover showed us what he got us used to, more of the same. And just like in NY, more celebs clothing. This time was Sienna Miller and that other girl who's name Im not able to remember, let alone write correctly with Twenty8Twelve. Good thing about this? Using a celebrity as a designer is purely commercial, therefore clothes are pretty wearable. No tengo mucho más que decir del resto de desfiles. Tal y como apuntaba H. Freeman en style proclamar que un diseñador de 26 años ha vuelto a sus raíces sería como decir que un vestido es vintage porque lo compraste el año pasado. Pero Henry Holland ha vuelto a sus camisetas con eslogan que dieron tanto que hablar allá por 2006. La musa de Matthew Williamson se está haciendo mayor -que no vieja- porque abrió el desfile con una chaqueta de tweed a juego con un vestido. Y cuando la gente empezaba a preguntarse si se habrían equivocado de desfile, el amante de la seda y los colores brillantes nos enseñó aquello a lo que nos tiene acostumbrados, más de lo mismo. Al igual que en NY, más ropa de celebrities. En este caso Sienna Miller y esta otra chica, cuyo nombre no recuerdo y ni mucho menos puedo escribir, con Twenty8twelve -fácil fácil- Lo bueno de este tipo de colecciones es que son muy comerciales y por tanto la ropa es bastante ponible.

My non-professional fashion eye couldnt rescue much from Mrs Weestwood and Topshop Unique defined itself with its own soundtrack: Go wild in the country. Mi sentido de la moda no profesional no ha podido rescatar mucho de Vivienne Weestwood y Unique de Topshop se define por si solo con su banda sonora: Go wild in the country.

On a different note, found a song yesterday and felt inspired to do a video with the lastest editorials featured in Vogue Paris. Movie Maker sucks,so thats the best I could do... No tiene nada que ver, pero ayer encontré una canción que me inspiró muchísimo para hacer un video con las últimas editos de Vogue Paris. El movie maker no va muy allá para hacer genialidades, así que ahí va lo mejor que pude hacer
