New Section! It was either Cheap&Chic or The Clone War. By now, you can figure out what its going to be about. Sometimes we fall in love with the last it bag or any other it-thing we desperately need and a) we cant afford it b) if we can afford it, we don't want to spend that much in something that will be outdated by next season. Because of that, we should be grateful for fast fashion retailers, that might not be as exclusive, but equally effective. ¡Nueva Sección! Pensaba llamarla Cheap&Chip o la Guerra de los Clones, así que ya os hacéis a la idea de que va a tratar. Todas nos hemos enamorado alguna vez del it-bag del momento o de cualquier otra cosa-it que necesitamos desesperadamente pero a) no nos llega b) nos llega, pero no queremos gastar tanto en algo que la próxima temporada estará pasado. Por ello, deberíamos estar agradecidas por las cadenas de moda, que quizás no sean tan exclusivas pero son igualmente efectivas.

I'm opening this section with Isabel Marant, that is still one of the most imitated season after season. This time, her burgundy leather pants make a splash. You can get away with them for 1700€ or less than 50€ if you pick a similar pair in Zara or Stradivarius. They are half way between leather pants and vinyl leggings, they have some kind of varnish effect. I got myself the pair from Stradivarius,the touch is very nice, they feel soft and not that plastic touch you get sometimes. I love the fit but they might be too tight for some people. Pueden ser tuyos por 1700 € o menos de 50€ por cortesía de Amancio. De Pablo, perdón. Tienen efecto barnizado, están a medio camino entre los pantalones de piel y los leggins de vinilo de la temporada pasada. Yo me he comprado los de Stradivarius, y os digo que el tacto es genial, son suaves no te dan esa sensación plasticosa, aunque pueden quedar demasiado apretados -eso al gusto de cada uno- De los de Zara puedo decir poco porque no los encontré.

More Marant. The fringe boots can be found in Zara and Stradivarius as well. If you are looking for an almost perfect clone, id suggest Stradivarius but if you just want a pair of inspired boots, go with Zara.

Tonight I was watching the last episode of Gossip Girl and once again I couldn't help to notice that piece hanging on the wall at Lily's apartment. Its probably familiar to you too if you are a fan of the show. Esta noche, viendo el último capítulo de Gossip Girl, una vez más ese cuadro colgado en el apartamento de Lily me llama la atención. Probablemente te resulte familiar a ti también si sigues la serie.

So I just did what I've been meant to do since the Van Der Woodsen family moved to their 994 Fifth Avenue penthouse, google the curious and chic picture standing on their hall. And here is what I got. The picture refers to a sculpture located near Marfa, in Texas. It is a small building that resembles a Prada store. Designed in 2005 by artists Elmgreen and Dragset. The six handbags and 20 right footed shoes inside are not to be sold, indeed you can not access inside, it is just an sculpture in the middle of nowhere, the contrast of a natural landscape and the minimal luxury of Prada. The artists mean for the building not to be repaid and integrate with the environment. El cuadro hace referencia a una escultura situada cerca de Marfa, en Texas. Diseñado en 2005 por Elmgreen y Dragset, es un edificio pequeño, parecido a una tienda de Prada. Los 6 bolsos y los 20 zapatos (del pie derecho) que se encuentran en su interior no se venden, de hecho ni siquiera se puede acceder al interior. Es simplemente una escultura en medio de la nada, el contraste entre un paisaje natural y el lujo de Prada. Los artistas pretendían que el edificio nunca fuese reparado y que con el paso del tiempo se integrara en el entorno.

Curious data, the building was vandalized and all the shoes and bags were stolen. As an extra gift they painted the word "Dumb" in the walls. On a different note, you might find hundreds of business cards that people left under rocks around the place. Datos curiosos, el edificio fue destrozado y robaron todos los bolsos y zapatos. Como regalito extra, pintaron con spray la palabra "Tonto" en los muros. Por otra parte, te puedes encontrar cientos de tarjetas de negocio debajo de las piedras en los alrededores del lugar.

Milan Fashion Week: Prada & Versace

I guess Prada is to Milan what Chanel is to Paris. Although I wouldnt dare to compare Miuccia with Coco, but... neoprene? -are you serious?- Yes! Neoprene coats, shorts cut out with no pattern followed, rouge lips and ponytails. Business to beach with "see through" plastic bags and sandals. And Lil' Mama on the soundtrack -are you serious?- Yes.

Supongo que Prada es a Milán lo que Chanel a París. Aunque yo no me atrevería a comparar a Miuccia con Coco, pero... neopreno? -¿en serio?- Si! Abrigos de neopreno, pantalones cortos cortados a la virulé, labios rouge y coletas. El ejecutivo llevado a la playa con bolsos y sandalias de plástico transparente. Y Lil' Mama de banda sonora -¿en serio?- Si.

Versace is not what is used to be when Gianni was alive. The glamorous sluts have turned from true women to dolls. But still glamorous, still slutty, maybe a little less fierce but is still Versace. Its Donatella. Its Alice in Wonderland. Pastels colours, polka dots, mini and really tight.

Versace no es lo que era cuando Gianni estaba vivo. Las glamurosas p***s han pasado de mujeres reales a muñequitas. Pero siguen siendo glamurosas, siguen siendo p***s, quizás con menos intensidad... pero sigue siendo Versace. Es Donatella. Es Alicia en el país de las maravillas. Colores pasteles, lunares, mini y muy ceñido.
