Fashion Week: London

Really delayed, but I could catch up eventually. What I liked the most from the british country? Lets start with Antonio Berardi. The collection was really classy, I really liked the skirtsuits and the nude color that we could see in a part of the line. Matthew Williamson was as colorful as always and since I have a soft spot with bows.... those pink shoes caught my heart *_* Paul Smith, who opened the show with a stunning pink suit, brought us the british lady with tied cardigans while House of Holand was.... tacky. But I cant help to wonder if Henry is a tacky genius. Otherwise I dont get it. However my favourite one was Luella by far. Why? Bows! Yup, I'm a little bit obsessed... but it's not only about lovely bows, I mean who can resist that sixties' cute teen sunday-morning look?

Finally... the Oscar goes to Christopher Bailey! Because Burberry Prorsum totally stood out at this London Fashion Week's 25th anniversary. Trenchcoats, camel and nude everywhere! and this time they got shorter, younger and more glamorous! Speaking of glam, guess who was on the front row? Emma Watson, Mary-Kate Olsen, Agyness Deyn but lets mention the important ones please! Mario Testino, Anna Wintour and the man who took streetstyle to a high level, Scott... Schuman of course.

Muy retrasada, pero al final pude ponerme al día. Lo que más me gustó del país anglosajón? Empezamos con Antonio Berardi. La colección fue muy elegante, realmente me gustaron los trajes de chaqueta y falda y el nude que inundaba parte de la línea. Matthew Williamson, colorido como siempre y como los lazos son mi punto débil, esos zapatos rosas me enamoraron *_* Paul Smith, quien abrió el show con un impresionante traje rosa, nos trajo a la british lady con rebeca anudada mientras que House of Holand fue... chabacano. Pero no puedo evitar preguntarme si Henry es un genio chabacano. Si no, no lo entiendo. No obstante, mi favorito fue Luella con diferencia. ¿Por qué? Lazos!, sep, estoy un poco obsesionada... pero no se trata solo de los adorabilisimos lacitos, o sea ¿quién puede resistir esos conjuntos con aires sesenteros de adolescente monísima de domingo por la mañana?

Finalmente, el Oscar es para Christopher Bailey! Porque Burberry Prorsum sobresalió totalmente en la vigésimo quinta edición de la semana de la moda londinense. Don't Look Back Anna.

Isnt it funny -or too lame- when you look up an old album and there is your funny -or too lame- past? Wearing clothes that makes you look like you are at a costumes party, shoes and hair included for your regret. Those memories you wish no one would ever get to see... However isnt it great -and too funny- when the person in the album of shame isnt you? And isnt it even more great - an even funnier- when the person in the album of shame rules the fashion industry? That's Anna Wintour in the 90's. Oh yes ma'an.

A qué es cómico -o muy penoso- cuando ojeas un álbum viejo y te reencuentras con tu cómico -o muy penoso- pasado? Con ropa que te hace parecer salida de una fiesta de disfraces, zapatos y pelo incluídos, muy a tu pesar. Esos recuerdos que desearías que nadie viera jamás.... Sin embargo, no es genial -o muy cómico- cuando la persona en el álbum de la verguenza no eres tu? Y a que es más genial -incluso más cómico- cuando la persona en el álbum de la verguenza domina la industria de la moda? Esa es Anna Wintour en los 90. Oh sí señora.

There are days we all need a little bit of motivation to keep up, face the world and never give up. Models get motivational boards in the backstage.... and i wish i woke up and found Diane holding one of those :P Or having Alex -Wang- waiting for me to have some tequila shots after an stressing college week. And i havent even started yet... sight.

Hay días en que se necesita un poco de motivación para mantener el ritmo, enfrentarse al mundo y no rendirse. Las modelos tienen paneles motivadores en el backstage... yo desearía despertarme y encontrarme a Diane con uno de éstos :P O tener a Alex -Wang- esperándome para tomarnos un chupito de tequila después de una semana estresante de uni. Y eso que aún no he empezado... uff.

Fashion Week: New York (II)

Fashion Week is over for NYC - ohhhhh =( -but it has left amazing shows behind! Firstly, I couldn't wait to see Michael Kors' one and it didnt dissapointed me at all! Madonna and Lady Gaga were chosen on the soundtrack to go with a sleek line with zipper accents that zigzagged around the body. 5 stars to you Michael! Im also charmed with Vera Wang. We could see her signature along the collection: crystal necklaces and a lot of tulle.... very Vera. There were also other collections to mention but it would take me ages. Lets just say my preppy side loved Ralph Lauren, specially the worker and classy looks although not that much the farmers' ones. And my undefined side liked Mulberry a lot. On the other hand, I havent posted any picture of Mary Katrantzou's collection, but id highly recomend it, pretty artistic.

By the way, Cibeles Fashion Week has started, YAY for us! Ill post a bit of it asap. Oh and click on pictures to enlarge them.

La semana de la moda de Nueva York se a acabado -ohhhh =(- pero ha dejado tras de sí shows increíbles. Para empezar, tenía muchas ganas de ver el de Michael Kors y no me ha desilusionado en absoluto. Madonna y Lady Gaga pusieron la banda sonora a una brillante colección acentuada con cremalleras en zig zag alrededor del cuerpo. ¡Un 10 para Michael! También estoy encantada con Vera Wang. Pudimos ver su seña a lo largo de toda la colección: collares de cristal y mucho tul.... muy Vera. Habría otras muchas por mencionar, pero me llevaría demasiado tiempo así que digamos simplemente que a mi lado pijo le encantó Ralph Lauren, especialmente los looks de trabajo y los vestidos más arreglados, aunque no tanto los de estilo granjero -.-'. A mi lado indefinido le gustó bastante Mulberry. Por otro lado, no he puesto ninguna foto del desfile de Mary Katrantzou pero la recomiendo, muy artística.

Por cierto, la semana de la moda ha comenzado en Cibeles :D Bien por nosotros! Pondré algo en cuanto pueda. Ah y pinchad en las fotos para agrandarlas.

NY Fashion Week: Marc By Marc Jacobs

Because he totally deserved an entry by his own. This has been my favourite collection so far. Although the line Marc by Marc Jacobs is kinda behing his main one, this one totally caught my eye... and my heart. It is so bright, the colors, some african patterns... so full of life that I just cant wait for spring to come and wear bunny bows!! It's a look that a less confident designer would have avoided this season because of its recent runway ubiquity. Not him. Self-assurance is something the bad ass of fashion industry has no shortage of. Enjoy ladies!

Porque se merece una entrada para él solito. Ha sido mi colección favorita por el momento. Aunque su línea Marc by Marc Jacobs suele estar en segundo plano, ésta me ha llamado mucho más la atención. Es tan brillante, los colores, algunos estampados africanos... tan llena de vida que una no ve el momento de que llegue la primavera para ponerse un lazo en la cabeza! Es un look que cualquier otro diseñador menos seguro de si mismo habría evitado dado su reciente ubicuidad en las pasarelas, pero no él. Confianza en uno mismo no es algo que le falte al chico malo de la industria precisamente. Disfrutad :D

Fashion Week: New York (I)

Fashion Week has started!!!! YAY! From sep 10 till sep 17 we'll have the chance to see what new yorkers offer us for spring 2010. For now, we were pleased with well-known designers' collections as Jil Stuart, Carolina Herrera or the new it boy Alexander Wang. Today on the runway we run into Badley Mishka or Narciso Rodríguez among others, and the show goes on the next few days with my loved Michael Kors, Anna Sui or the preppy labels Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger. La semana de la moda ha comenzado!! :D Desde el 10 hasta el 17 de septiembre, tendremos la oportunidad de ver lo que los neoyorkinos nos ofrecen para la primavera 2010.
